Cairo: The National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) announced on Sunday, July 26, 2026, that the number of exported food consignments reached 3,250, with a total volume of 165,000 tons, exported by 1,195 exporting companies.According to State Information Service Egypt, these consignments covered around 665 food products, including vegetables and tubers, fruits, flour and grain products, as well as processed fruit and vegetable products and other food items.In its 27th weekly report for 2026, covering the period July 18-24, 2026, the authority said that 36 types of fruit were exported, totaling 30,000 tons. Strawberries topped the list of exported fruits during the past week with 10,000 tons, followed by citrus fruits with 7,000 tons and grapes with 6,000 tons.The report added that 39 types of vegetables were exported, with total quantities reaching 31,000 tons. Onions ranked first among Egypt's exported vegetables with 11,000 tons, followed by potatoes with 6,000 tons and sweet potatoes with 5,000 tons.T he authority noted that England ranked first among the importing countries for Egyptian food exports during the past week, followed by Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Turkey, out of a total of 200 importing countries.
