Rafah: The 173rd convoy of humanitarian aid trucks has begun on Sunday, April 5, 2026, entering Gaza to deliver assistance to Palestinians in the Strip, via the secondary gate of the Rafah land port heading toward the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, in preparation for bringing the aid into the enclave. This comes as part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians in Gaza.According to State Information Service Egypt, an official source stated that the trucks are carrying large quantities of food and relief supplies, including food items, food baskets, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned goods, medicines, personal care supplies, tents, and fuel.Israeli occupation forces had closed the crossings linking the Gaza Strip since March 2, 2025, following the end of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach a deal to uphold the ceasefire. The truce was breached by heavy airstrikes on March 18, 2025, followed by renewed ground incursions into various areas of the Gaza Strip from which forces had previously withdrawn.
