Cairo: The National Alliance for Civil and Development Work (NACDW) launched the third phase of the "One Hand" Initiative in response to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to intensify social protection efforts and expand support for vulnerable and most-in-need families.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the new phase aims to step up contributions by NACDW member organizations across Egypt through comprehensive joint caravans, specialized standalone caravans and activities, door-to-door campaigns, as well as a range of other developmental and service interventions.

The third phase builds on the initiative's achievements since its launch and follows an integrated plan to coordinate the efforts of 21 National Alliance member organizations, ensuring a faster response to citizens' needs and expanding services for the most vulnerable groups nationwide.

The organizations include the Bishopric of Public and Social Services, Siddiqiya Foundation, Elaraby Foundation for Social Development, Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, Egyptian Cure Bank, Egyptian Food Bank, Al-Orman Association, Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat Association, Resala Charity Association, Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Mosque Association, Abou El Enein Foundation, El-Garhy Foundation for Community Development, Raie Misr Foundation, Sonaa3 Elkhair Foundation, Life Makers Egypt Foundation, CARE Egypt Foundation for Development, Nabil El-Kateb Charity Foundation, Misr El Kheir Foundation, Decent Life Foundation, State Information Service and Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The third phase includes 2,057 activities throughout August, providing a wide range of services to 3,045,270 beneficiaries as part of a plan to cover all governorates and expand access to vulnerable and most-in-need communities.

The initiative will operate through four main tracks, including eight comprehensive 'One Hand' caravans targeting the most vulnerable governorates in Upper Egypt. The first comprehensive caravan will be launched on Tuesday in northern Upper Egypt.

The overture also includes specialized caravans and activities carried out by member organizations based on their respective areas of expertise.

The third involves door-to-door activities designed to reach vulnerable families directly, while the fourth includes a range of developmental and support activities aimed at improving quality of life and advancing sustainable development.

The third phase will provide food assistance, medical and treatment services, direct cash support, social care and in-kind assistance, educational support, economic empowerment, environmental development, infrastructure and community-facility upgrades, support for persons with disabilities, and community awareness programs, alongside other developmental interventions.

The NACDW said the third phase represents an integrated model for coordinating civil society organizations' efforts under one umbrella, supporting Egypt's social protection efforts, easing the burden on vulnerable families, advancing sustainable development and strengthening community solidarity across the country.
