London: The Muslim World League has expressed its support for the British government's recent decision to ban the import of goods from Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories. The decision also includes restrictions on services connected to these settlements.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the League's General Secretariat issued a statement in which Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, commended the UK government's stance. He highlighted this decision as an important move supporting the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people. Sheikh Al-Issa urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by halting all Israeli government violations and taking effective measures against attempts to alter the demographic or geographic reality in the occupied territories, including illegal settlement activities.Additionally, Sheikh Al-Issa praised the statement from th e foreign ministers of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt. These nations have shown strong solidarity with the Palestinian people, reaffirming their support for the Palestinian right to establish a state based on the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions as the path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
