Modernization Drive Boosts Our Combat Readiness-Air Force Commander

Cairo: Egypt's Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Amr Abdelrahman Saqr, said recent upgrades to multirole aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have significantly boosted the combat efficiency and operational readiness of the Egyptian Air Force.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Saqr spoke at a press conference on Monday, October 13, 2025, marking the Air Force's 93rd anniversary. He noted that Egypt is among the leading countries in drone operations, possessing a wide range of UAVs capable of carrying out missions with high precision.

The Air Force's 93rd anniversary coincides with the Armed Forces' commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the 1973 October War and the Battle of Mansoura. Saqr described these events as 'a beacon of pride and dignity for all who defend the homeland.'

Recalling the 1973 encounter, Saqr mentioned the enemy's attempted attack on Egyptian air bases on 14 October, which was met by the Air Force's 'Eagles,' who engaged in the longest air battle in history, lasting more than 50 minutes.

Saqr concluded by praising the 'farsighted vision' of Egypt's political and military leadership for modernizing the Air Force through the acquisition of advanced aircraft, strengthening its capacity to safeguard national security and stability.
