Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Monitors Final Preparations for Grand Egyptian Museum Opening

Cairo: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Sherif Fathy, is intensively following up on the final preparations for the grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2025. Mr. Fathy has been working from the museum's premises since the beginning of this week, allowing him to closely monitor all the details around the clock.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister is overseeing the readiness of all museum components, including exhibition halls, the Khufu Boat Museum, and the display scenario for the King Tutankhamun Hall. Additionally, he is inspecting the commercial area, which features shops selling archaeological replicas and traditional Egyptian crafts, along with restaurants and rest areas for visitors.

Mr. Fathy also attended the final rehearsals for the artistic performance to be presented during the global opening ceremony. His commitment is focused on ensuring that all artistic and organizational elements are prepared to deliver a show that will captivate the world and underscore the grandeur of Egyptian civilization.

Sherif Fathy has affirmed that the work inside and outside the museum is progressing with intensive efforts from all relevant parties, who are working in harmony to present the event in a way that reflects Egypt's historical and cultural stature. He emphasized that efforts will continue until the last moment to ensure that all details meet the highest standards, expressing confidence that the ceremony will be a resounding success.
