Minister of State for Military Production Explores Solar Thermal Energy Utilization

El-salam city: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gamblat engaged in discussions with renewable energy expert Hani el-Nokrashy on potential cooperation in localizing the manufacturing of components for concentrated solar thermal power plants.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting, which took place at the ministry’s training sector headquarters, focused on reviewing the latest global technologies in the manufacturing of solar thermal power station components. The discussions also covered the feasibility of localizing these technologies within the Ministry of Military Production’s affiliated companies to bolster local manufacturing and electricity generation capabilities.

Gamblat emphasized that the clean and renewable energy sector is gaining significant attention as a crucial part of the national economy. He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to establishing specialized partnerships with both national and international experts in various fields, including renewable energy. This aligns with the political leadership’s directives to localize strategic industrial technologies, enhance reliance on renewable energy sources, support sustainable development, and strengthen energy security.

Gamblat further noted that the Ministry of Military Production is guided by an integrated vision to maximize the utilization of surplus production capacities, technological capabilities, and human expertise available within its companies. This approach aims to actively contribute to the implementation of national development projects.

Nokrashy, on his part, acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Ministry of Military Production as a major industrial entity in the country. He praised the advanced manufacturing and technological capabilities of its affiliated entities. Nokrashy also emphasized that solar thermal energy is a promising solution for achieving sustainability in electricity generation, particularly in Egypt, which benefits from abundant sunshine throughout the year. He added that solar thermal power plants, with their heat storage capability, could ensure uninterrupted electricity generation around the clock.
