Minister Diaa Rashwan Discusses Media Cooperation with Journalists’ and Media Syndicates

Cairo: Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan held a meeting with delegations from the Journalists' Syndicate and the Media Syndicate to explore collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing professional standards among journalists and media professionals.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place with Khaled El-Balshy, Chairman of the Journalists' Syndicate, and Dr. Tarek Saada, Chairman of the Media Syndicate, in attendance. Minister Rashwan expressed his appreciation for the roles both syndicates play and shared his experiences from his professional career in journalism, including his tenure as Chairman of the Journalists' Syndicate.

Minister Rashwan reiterated his support for the syndicates' mandates, focusing on elevating journalism and media standards. He emphasized the significance of maintaining professional practices aligned with constitutional and legal provisions while protecting freedom of opinion and expression. Rashwan also highlighted the importance of training media professionals to adapt to the evolving media landscape.

The Minister conveyed the directives from the President and Prime Minister, stressing the need to restore the status of Egyptian media and achieve significant advancements in national media messaging. He underscored the importance of delivering messages that resonate with citizens, uphold societal values, and respect constitutional freedoms.

The delegations led by Khaled El-Balshy and Dr. Tariq Saada congratulated Minister Rashwan on his appointment, recognizing it as an acknowledgment of the media community's contributions. They expressed satisfaction with his cooperative approach and commitment to "responsible freedom" in media practices.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to hold regular discussions to further the media system's goals. Minister Rashwan thanked the delegations for their participation and reaffirmed his commitment to engaging with all media professionals, including future meetings with private media representatives, acknowledging the private sector's vital role in the Egyptian media landscape.
