Manila: Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, engaged in discussions with Mr. Dato Seri Haji Mohammad Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Manila.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's pride in its enduring friendship with Brunei Darussalam and expressed a desire to bolster bilateral relations further. He highlighted the need to activate institutional frameworks to facilitate cooperation and extended an invitation for Cairo to host the second round of political consultations between the two nations.

Minister Abdelatty outlined the investment opportunities in Egypt and the economic reforms initiated to attract foreign investment. He urged collaboration to boost bilateral trade and encouraged Brunei's participation in Egypt's development projects, particularly in tourism, infrastructure, and agriculture.

In education, Minister Abdelatty welcomed students from Brunei to Egyptian universities and advocated for expanded academic cooperation. He also discussed Egypt's expertise in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, expressing interest in collaborative opportunities that would benefit both countries' healthcare development.

Minister Abdelatty acknowledged Brunei's support for Egypt in international forums and stressed ongoing coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, underscoring the strong friendship between the two nations.
