Military Production Minister Seeks to Reduce Carbon Footprints

Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gomblat discussed with Chairman of AGS Consulting Ahmed Ghoneim ways to enhance cooperation between the ministry and the private sector to reduce energy consumption and lower carbon footprints across state-affiliated companies and factories. The meeting held at the ministry's headquarters comes as part of the state's shift toward a more sustainable economy in line with Egypt Vision 2030.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Gomblat highlighted the value of detailed emissions reporting as a tool to support decision-making and improve environmentally friendly industrial performance. He emphasized that transitioning to a more sustainable, low-carbon economy is a key objective of Egypt Vision 2030.

Gomblat also noted the importance of upgrading human resources within military production companies to enhance technical and managerial capabilities in this area. This includes assessing ways to reduce carbon emissions from products and raising awareness of climate change driven by both direct and indirect industrial activities.
