Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eddin Mostafa discussed with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi ways to boost cooperation between their ministries in various domains. This meeting took place at the Ministry of Military Production headquarters in the Government District.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Salah Eddin emphasized the joint efforts between the ministries, especially in the production of prepaid gas meters. This initiative aims to conserve national resources and promote rational gas consumption. The meeting aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to enhance cooperation between state institutions and leverage national manufacturing capabilities to boost local production.
Salah Eddin commended the Petroleum Ministry's role in securing oil and natural gas supplies by expanding exploration activities, diversifying sources, adjusting the energy mix, and maximizing the added value of natural resources. He also highlighted the ongoing collaboration to convert buses to operate on natural gas instead of diesel. This project, involving various ministries and public transport authorities, plans to convert 2,262 buses in six phases. The first phase is complete, and the second phase is underway, with completion expected by December 2025.
Karim Badawi praised the productive cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, emphasizing the utilization of resources and capabilities of affiliated companies and units. This partnership supports the Petroleum Ministry's development plan and enhances the use of local resources, ultimately serving the public interest.
Both ministers agreed on the need for regular follow-up on joint projects and addressing challenges during implementation, underscoring the importance of continuous collaboration for projects with significant economic impact.
