Assiut: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the results of a comprehensive medical caravan organized by the Cabinet's Higher Medical Committee and Appeals Department in the Assiut districts of Al-Badari and Abnoub from September 14 to 17.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the four-day caravan was organized in cooperation with the Egyptian Al-Shifaa Bank, providing free medical examinations and treatment across several specialties, including ophthalmology, along with necessary tests, medications, and eyeglasses. Cases requiring surgery were referred for further procedures.

The caravan examined 3,221 citizens, including 1,127 ophthalmology cases, and provided 479 prescription eyeglasses to eligible beneficiaries. It also identified 187 patients requiring eye surgery. The comprehensive clinics examined another 2,094 cases and identified 85 patients requiring surgical procedures. All prescribed medications were provided to patients examined during the caravan.

Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan inspected the caravan's activities and reviewed the medical services provided to residents, praising efforts to deliver free healthcare to underserved areas. Following the inspection, Alwan met with representatives of the Higher Medical Committee and Appeals Department and Egyptian Al-Shifaa Bank to discuss expanding medical caravans and targeting more underserved villages and areas.

The committee expressed appreciation to the governor and Assiut's executive agencies for their support and coordination, as well as to Egyptian Al-Shifaa Bank for its continued contribution to providing free medical services to people in underserved communities.
