Cairo: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, convened a meeting to review the development of an electronic system aimed at facilitating tourist arrivals at Egyptian airports. The meeting was attended by key figures including Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities; and other officials from relevant ministries and authorities.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting's focus was on the government's commitment to supporting the tourism sector due to its significance in the Egyptian economy. Dr. Madbouly emphasized the importance of enhancing the experience for foreign tourists, particularly by streamlining entry and exit procedures at airports through advanced systems and technologies.Dr. Amr Talaat presented a detailed overview of the initiative to develop an electronic platform or portal for issuing visas to foreign tourists, which is expected to simplify their entry process. The aim is to tra nsition from paper-based forms to a digital system, thereby reducing congestion, improving the work environment at entry points, and enhancing tourism services to improve Egypt's global competitiveness.Engineer Raafat Hindi elaborated on the current progress of the system's development, the steps taken to meet project timelines, and preparations for launching the updated electronic visa application. He also discussed strategies to promote the electronic portal and ensure its sustainability.Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of collaboration with all relevant authorities to implement the latest global electronic systems, ensuring a seamless experience for foreign tourists arriving at Egyptian airports.
