Cairo: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met on Monday, February 16, 2026, with Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, to review the action plan for the next phase, in accordance with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding media and public opinion, and to establish clear mechanisms for implementing these directives.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting also addressed the need to define clear mechanisms for implementing these directives. At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister again congratulated Diaa Rashwan on assuming responsibility for the Ministry of State for Information, emphasizing that the ministry's reinstatement within the new cabinet reflects the great importance the state places on national media outlets and its belief in the ministry's crucial role as an effective communicator. This role involves conveying a meaningful message to all segments of Egyptian society, thereby fulfilling the media's function of strengthening Egyptian identity and enlightened culture, and objectively highlighting challenges and problems for decision-makers. He added, "I have great confidence that the ministry will serve as a vital link in effective communication with various media outlets, providing media that befits Egypt, its stature, and the Egyptian citizen."
In his remarks, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly indicated that the next phase requires the establishment of specific and clear mechanisms for addressing the issues related to implementing the presidential directives.
