Labor Minister: MoU Signed with VBW in Germany’s Bavaria

Cairo: Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Labor, and the German government, represented by the Bavarian Industry Association (VBW) at the headquarters of the association in the state of Bavaria.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the MoU aims to facilitate cooperation in the fields of vocational training and the movement of Egyptian workers. The agreement outlines the coordination of organized labor mobility based on the labor market needs in Bavaria, detailing the number of workers, job roles, sectors, and working conditions.

The Bavarian Industry Association is set to assist in streamlining entry procedures into the German labor market, ensuring compliance with Germany's laws and regulations. In his address via video conference during the signing ceremony, Gobran emphasized the MoU as a milestone achieved through sustained dialogue and coordination, highlighting the robust bilateral relations between Egypt and Bavaria.

Gobran expressed optimism that this cooperation could set a precedent for other German states and European countries by establishing legal pathways for labor mobility and addressing irregular migration. He also mentioned the possibility of an upcoming joint meeting aimed at activating the MoU's provisions and crafting practical plans to achieve the intended outcomes.
