Cairo: Minister of Labor Hassan Radad announced that Monday, April 13th, will be an official paid holiday for private sector employees on the occasion of Sham El-Nessim.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Labor Ministry emphasized that while employers have the right to require staff to work on the holiday if necessary, they must compensate employees with double pay in addition to their daily wage. Alternatively, employees can be granted a compensatory day off, provided they submit a written request.A circular has been issued to labor directorates across the nation to ensure that this decision is implemented uniformly at workplaces and production sites. This measure aims to honor the traditional celebration while maintaining flexibility for businesses that require continued operations.Minister Radad also took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to the Egyptian people and workers on the occasion. He expressed his wishes for their continued success and for the country to achieve fu rther progress and stability.
