Labor Minister and Turkey’s Eroglu Holding Discuss Major Investment and Employment Initiatives

Cairo: Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad engaged in discussions with officials from Turkish Eroglu Holding Co. to deliberate on potential collaboration in training and employment as the company plans to expand its operations in Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting addressed Eroglu Holding's intention to invest over $800 million in the region. This investment is expected to significantly boost employment, raising the company's workforce to more than 10,000 employees. Plans include expanding their garment and knitting operations within the Suez Canal Economic Zone and initiating a cardboard manufacturing project slated for 2027.

The discussions also focused on facilitating operational support, such as expediting work permits for foreign experts and simplifying visa procedures. Additionally, there was an emphasis on improving access to databases of skilled Egyptian workers to support the company's growth.

Both parties reached an agreement to enhance vocational training by partnering with technical schools and universities. They also plan to strengthen in-house training programs to further develop local skills, ensuring a skilled workforce to meet the company's expansion needs.
