ITIDA CEO Highlights Egypt’s Talent Pool as a Key Asset for Offshoring Industry

Egypt: Egypt has a strong competitive edge in the offshoring industry, with its various governorates offering diverse pools of talent and skills that enable global companies to build multi-location operations from Egypt and serve international markets efficiently and flexibly, said Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

According to State Information Service Egypt, Elzaher made the remarks on the sidelines of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly's visit to several major global companies operating in the offshoring industry in Alexandria. The visit took place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Elzaher emphasized that Alexandria serves as a prime example of how Egypt can extend its offshoring capabilities beyond Cairo. By doing so, it brings global companies closer to highly skilled regional talent. He highlighted the expansion of global companies in Alexandria as evidence of their ability to grow operations from Egypt, enabling them to serve multiple global markets by leveraging Egyptian talent, diverse technical and interpersonal skills, and foreign-language proficiency.

Elzaher stated that geographic diversification is now a crucial factor for competitiveness, scalability, and resilience. He pointed out that a broader delivery footprint allows companies wider access to talent, greater flexibility to scale, stronger business continuity, and better operational risk management.
