Cairo: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam emphasized the strong friendship between Egypt and Rwanda, which goes beyond their connection through the Nile River. Sewilam made these remarks while attending, on behalf of the Egyptian government, a celebration organized by the Embassy of Rwanda in Cairo to mark the 31st Liberation Day anniversary.According to State Information Service Egypt, Sewilam highlighted the close cooperation in water management, education, health, and capacity building between the two nations. The minister also noted Egypt's ongoing training programs for African nations through the Pan-African Center for Water and Climate Change Adaptation (PACWA).Sewilam reaffirmed Egypt's support for development in Nile Basin countries and cited the launch of a $100 million financing mechanism for infrastructure and development projects in the southern basin.
