Irrigation Minister Highlights Robust Relations Between Egypt and Djibouti

Cairo: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sewilam, emphasized the enduring and historic relations between Egypt and Djibouti, underscoring decades of cooperative ties that serve as a model for collaboration between neighboring nations. Sewilam stressed the importance of these bilateral relations, particularly in the context of current regional and international challenges, which demand greater cooperation and solidarity with shared visions.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sewilam's comments were made during a speech on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at a celebration hosted by the Djibouti embassy in Cairo to mark the 48th anniversary of Djibouti's Independence Day. He extended heartfelt greetings to the Ambassador of Djibouti in Cairo and conveyed congratulations to the government and people of Djibouti on this significant occasion, celebrating nearly five decades of sovereignty and national achievements.

The minister also highlighted the necessity of addressing issues related to peace, security, sustainable development, and economic and social stability, given the growing challenges in Arab and African regions. Sewilam advocated for close cooperation and continuous coordination to navigate these complex issues effectively.
