Investment Ministry Unveils Second Phase of Campaign for Investment Zones

Cairo: The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, led by Mohamed Farid, has launched the second phase of its promotional and awareness campaign aimed at boosting investment zones. This initiative is presented under the theme 'Investment Zones... Where the Elements of Success Come Together,' and focuses on highlighting successful investment models across various governorates. The campaign emphasizes the private sector's role in enhancing economic growth, job creation, and production. According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministry spotlighted the investment zone in Mit Ghamr, located in Dakahlia Governorate, as a model for local development and private sector empowerment. This zone has successfully attracted investments exceeding EGP 500 million through 50 industrial projects, resulting in approximately 2,500 direct employment opportunities. The Mit Ghamr zone features 107 industrial units with adaptable spaces ranging from 144 to 576 square meters. It supports activities in engineering, electr onics, metal industries, and other productive sectors. The zone aims to cater to the needs of various investors while fostering industrial growth, as noted by the ministry. Minister Mohamed Farid emphasized that the success of the Mit Ghamr investment zone illustrates the State's commitment to fostering development and enabling the private sector to drive economic progress. This is achieved through substantive reforms that assist investors in expanding their businesses, boosting production, and generating employment. The ministry is dedicated to replicating these successful models across other governorates, with plans to connect companies with Egypt's commercial representation offices worldwide. This strategy aims to open new export markets and integrate businesses into global value chains, Farid added. The Mit Ghamr zone's high occupancy rate and the presence of about 160 projects on the waiting list underscore investors' confidence in the investment zones model, which provides a conducive business enviro nment for growth and expansion.
