Industry Minister and EliTe Solar Explore Expansion Opportunities in Egypt

Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir engaged in discussions with EliTe Solar's CEO Arndt Lutz regarding the company's potential expansion in the Egyptian market. The meeting, held on Monday, January 26, 2026, centered on EliTe Solar's plans to enhance local production and increase export levels.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the dialogue detailed the company's strategy for addressing current challenges, such as the need for a more skilled workforce in solar energy and the Egyptian market's dependence on imported solar cells and panels. Minister Wazir underscored the need for EliTe Solar to deepen local manufacturing by sourcing components locally or establishing component factories to achieve industrial integration.

Wazir also encouraged EliTe Solar to explore new export markets, leveraging Egypt's numerous free trade agreements. This move aims to amplify the company's global outreach and market presence. Furthermore, the Industry Ministry prioritizes new and renewable energy in evaluating investment applications for new factories, aiming to lessen the strain on the national electricity grid.

The minister highlighted the government's commitment to promoting solar energy reliance in manufacturing processes to sustain industrial facilities and mitigate environmental impacts. This strategic emphasis aligns with Egypt's broader goals of enhancing sustainability and supporting economic growth through renewable energy initiatives.
