Doha: Engineer Sherif Sharabini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities of Egypt, engaged in discussions with Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman, during the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction in Qatar. The primary focus of their meeting was to explore potential collaborations in establishing and developing sustainable new cities between Egypt and Oman. Officials from both delegations were present at the meeting.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Engineer Sherif Sharabini expressed his satisfaction in meeting with Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili, emphasizing the longstanding and strong relations between Egypt and Oman. Both nations have a rich history of cooperation, which their political leaders continue to support.
The dialogue centered around the potential for collaboration in the realm of sustainable urban development. Oman showed interest in leveraging Egypt's advanced experience in creating sustainable cities, particularly by forming partnerships with Egyptian contracting companies.
Engineer Sherif Sharabini conveyed Egypt's willingness to share its expertise in urban development, particularly in the establishment of new cities. He highlighted Egypt's achievements in developing fourth-generation cities, which are considered innovative on a global scale.
During the meeting, the Egyptian minister also took Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili on a tour of the Egyptian pavilion at the accompanying exhibition of the Sixth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. The pavilion showcased key projects undertaken by the Ministry of Housing in Egypt, including the New Administrative Capital, New Alamein, and the development initiatives like the Tilal al-Fustat parklands and the 'Housing for Every Egyptian' program.
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili expressed his admiration for Egypt's rapid urban development and presented Engineer Sherif Sharabini with a commemorative shield, acknowledging his contributions to the real estate sector.
