Housing Minister Reviews Progress of ‘Housing for All Egyptians’ Initiative in New Cities

Cairo: Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el-Menshawy recently inspected the ongoing residential and service projects under the 'Housing for All Egyptians' initiative in the cities of New Beni Suef, New Minya, New Sohag, and Sadat. This visit was part of the ministry's efforts to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister emphasized the critical importance of these housing projects in enhancing the quality of life for citizens by providing adequate housing across different income levels. She underscored the ministry's commitment to maintaining rigorous on-site follow-ups to boost implementation rates and swiftly address any challenges.The inspection included evaluations of projects' progress and discussions on strategies to overcome obstacles and expedite the work. The Minister also received a report detailing the outcomes of inspection tours conducted by officials from the New Urban Communities Authority a nd city agencies.Further, the tour included an assessment of middle-income housing units under the initiative, with six fully finished residential buildings set to be handed over to beneficiaries. Ongoing efforts in the low-income housing segment were also reviewed, which comprises 84 buildings with a total of 2,016 housing units.In addition, the report covered the progress of the 'Green Housing' project in Sadat City. It highlighted the importance of adhering to planned timelines and ensuring the highest quality standards during execution.The report also noted a visit by Mohamed el-Azzouni, Head of New Minya City Authority, to oversee the construction of 71 residential buildings under the initiative, along with Green Housing projects in phases five, six, and seven. Efforts to accelerate the completion of water and sewage network connections were also discussed.Ayman Rashad, Head of New Sohag City Authority, conducted a tour to monitor phase seven of the initiative in New Sohag City. This phase, one o f the largest housing projects in the city, includes 4,056 fully finished housing units distributed across 169 buildings, executed by eight specialized contracting companies.
