Cairo: Housing Minister Randa el Menshawy reviewed progress on road, utility, and service projects in several new cities, directing officials to accelerate infrastructure work and improve services.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the housing ministry is implementing road upgrades in New Fayoum, New Cairo, Hadayek October, New Suez, New Assiut, Badr, and Hadayek 10th of Ramadan. The ministry's statement highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure across these burgeoning urban areas.

In New Fayoum, construction has commenced on the second phase of a strategic road connecting the city with Fayoum. The project is now set for completion within one year, reducing the timeline from the originally planned 24 months. This acceleration reflects the ministry's commitment to expedite development processes and facilitate better connectivity.

Other projects across the cities involve paving and expanding roads, upgrading drainage and utility networks, and improving traffic safety. These initiatives aim to bolster links between residential, industrial, and service areas, thereby supporting investment and urban development in these regions.
