Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Chinese company "Mindray," known for its medical device manufacturing, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in localizing medical industries. The meeting, which took place on Monday, January 26, 2026, focused on expanding the implementation of smart hospitals across the nation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that both parties praised the strong ties between Egypt and China in the health sector. The discussions highlighted the distinguished human resources and advanced technological visions possessed by both countries.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of previous joint projects, with discussions covering the use of artificial intelligence in radiology, the establishment of smart intensive care units, and cooperation in developing training platforms. Additionally, the parties addressed the organization of workshops aimed at improving the efficiency of medical teams using the latest technologies.

Further points of discussion included mutual cooperation in public health initiatives and the development of smart health solutions, the spokesman added.
