Cairo: Health Ministry and Sanofi Egypt have signed a cooperation protocol to promote natural births and reduce unnecessary caesarean deliveries, as per an official statement from the ministry on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The protocol is part of the second axis of the presidential initiative The Golden 1,000 Days, which aims to improve healthcare services nationwide and enhance maternal and child health.According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the initiative's successes and the fruitful partnership with Sanofi. He reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting health services and awareness campaigns across all governorates. The protocol focuses on raising awareness of safe natural births and highlighting the risks associated with unnecessary caesarean sections, particularly postpartum venous thromboembolism (VTE).The plan includes social media awareness campaigns, training 1,000 healthcare specialists to provide optimal maternal and child care, and devel oping risk assessment tools and care protocols. Sanofi Egypt's General Manager emphasized the company's dedication to enhancing collaboration with the ministry in the healthcare and innovation fields, including support for clinical trials and digital health applications.
