Health Minister Leads Discussion on Medical Professions Risk Compensation Fund

Cairo:The seventh board meeting of the Medical Professions Risk Compensation Fund was chaired by Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, accompanied by the fund's executive director Hussein Dahroug and board members from various ministries and authorities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on several agenda items, including a review of the fund's financial status, compensation payments, and investment strategies. Proposed cooperation areas to support medical professionals were also discussed.

The board examined the fund’s total revenues and balances up to the end of August 2026, along with compensation awarded to beneficiaries for death and disabilities. They assessed the fund’s investment plan and the balances held with commercial banks, emphasizing the importance of monitoring these investments to safeguard resources and fulfill obligations to beneficiaries.

Additionally, updates on the fund's new headquarters at the Ministry of Labor were reviewed, with plans to relocate by December. Proposed cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Health and Population, the Egyptian Health Council, and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals were also considered.

Minister Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the need for the fund's cooperation and spending to focus on areas that directly benefit medical professionals, mitigate health profession risks, and improve support and protection. These efforts aim to enhance the working environment and healthcare quality for citizens.
