Health Minister Engages with Saudi Commission Official to Boost Medical Cooperation

Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar held a meeting with Dr Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Turki, Assistant Secretary-General for Institutional Affairs at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Commission and the Egyptian Health Council, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, the ministry's official spokesperson, explained that the minister praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's interest in vocational medical education and invited the Saudi delegation to visit a number of Egypt's leading training centres.He noted that the meeting addressed: transferring the Egyptian experience in continuous professional development and licensing examinations for the practice of veterinary medicine according to the One Health approach; standardizing certificate titles and mutual recognition of accredited hours between the two par ties to facilitate physicians practicing in both countries; and cooperation on scientific programs and exchange of trainers to maximize the benefit from shared expertise.The meeting was attended by Dr Mohamed Lotfy, Chair of the Egyptian Health Council, and Dr Hamad Al-Turki, Director of the Credentials Equivalency Department at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
