Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with representatives of Pfizer Egypt for pharmaceutical and biological products to discuss joint cooperation in vital fields contributing to improving health services. The meeting highlighted the ministry's commitment to coordinating with partners to develop the pharmaceutical sector and enhance the efficiency of the health system.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister reviewed Pfizer's efforts in supporting public health through medical innovations in oncology, hemophilia, and vaccines. The discussions also emphasized building medical staff capacity and ensuring the sustainability of local manufacturing and supply chains.
The meeting further addressed collaboration with presidential initiatives, particularly in supporting the Women's Health Initiative. This involves awareness campaigns, early detection efforts, and psychological support for patients, in coordination with the National Cancer Institute.
Additional topics included the implementation of precision medicine, the localization of vaccine production to bolster drug security, and expanding cooperation to improve the quality of life for hemophilia patients through modern treatments.
Attendees at the meeting included Assistant Minister for Public Health Initiatives Mohamed Hassani, Director of the General Department of Pharmacy Hind Ashour, and Pfizer Regional President for the Middle East, Africa, and Russia Rodrigo Luis Puga, along with several other health and company officials.
