Health Minister Discusses Joint Cooperation Progress with World Bank Representatives

Geneva: Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, met with World Bank representatives in Geneva during the 78th World Health Assembly. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in health sector investment and discussed key topics such as human development, population strategies, reproductive health, women's empowerment, and youth education. They also reviewed ongoing projects, including primary healthcare units serving 80 million Egyptians, and training programs like the 'Visiting Doctor' initiative targeting reproductive health in Upper Egypt. Support for the presidential 'Decent Life' initiative and national nutrition strategies were also addressed.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions underscored the importance of strengthening health sector investment to improve access to quality healthcare services. The meeting highlighted collaborative efforts to address human development and population strategies, emphasizing the need for comprehensive approaches to reproductive health and women's empowerment. The focus extended to youth education, recognizing its role in shaping future health outcomes.

The dialogue also covered the progress of existing projects, such as the establishment of primary healthcare units aimed at serving a vast population of 80 million Egyptians. The 'Visiting Doctor' program, which targets reproductive health in Upper Egypt, was discussed as a significant initiative to improve healthcare delivery in underserved regions.

Support for ongoing national initiatives was also a critical topic, with emphasis placed on the presidential 'Decent Life' initiative and national nutrition strategies. These efforts are aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life and addressing nutritional challenges across the country.
