Cairo: Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, met with Askar Zhenis, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Egypt, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector and pharmaceutical manufacturing technology.According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister welcomed the Kazakh ambassador, affirming the ministry's commitment to developing the partnership through the transfer of pharmaceutical manufacturing technology, the harmonization of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, and the opening of new horizons for trade and investment exchange between the two countries.Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the importance of cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, research and development, building medical and regulatory capacities, vaccination programs, and public health initiatives. A particular focus was placed on exporting Egyptian products, including hepatitis C treatments and products from the Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries Company (EIPICO).The meeting also addressed the implementation status of joint cooperation files, including the development of joint production, technology transfer, and research into vaccines and biological products. This draws on Egypt's leading expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and public health, as well as the historical relations between the two countries.The meeting concluded with the minister's official invitation to the Kazakh Minister of Health to visit a number of hospitals and pharmaceutical production lines in Egypt. This visit aims to provide insights into the Egyptian healthcare system and explore promising investment opportunities, thereby enhancing the advancement of the health sector in both countries.
