Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed with Huawei representatives ways to enhance joint cooperation in digital transformation for the healthcare sector and leverage the company's latest technological solutions. The meeting comes as part of efforts to develop the health system using modern technologies to boost service quality and efficiency.

According to State Information Service Egypt, both sides reviewed the company's vision for digital healthcare in Egypt through a unified cloud model, transitioning from fragmented digital systems to a consolidated platform that integrates data and supports decision-making. The meeting addressed ongoing cooperation projects, including hospital IT infrastructure, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), digital pathology, and pre-hospital emergency projects, alongside AI and big data solutions.

Both sides emphasized using AI and digital tools to develop healthcare and expand the Universal Health Insurance project under Egypt Vision 2030. The two sides also discussed ways to leverage Huawei's international expertise in digital transformation of government and healthcare systems, supporting the exchange of knowledge and best practices in building an integrated and sustainable digital healthcare ecosystem.

Huawei representatives invited the minister to attend the Huawei Connect 2026 conference in Shanghai from September 17 to 19, 2026, featuring 25,000 participants to showcase modern digital strategies and innovations.
