Cairo: The Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Mr. Hassan Abdullah, received a Chinese delegation in Cairo, led by Mr. Sun Chou, the Deputy Mayor of Beijing. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Egypt and China.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring areas of economic and financial cooperation. A significant part of the conversation centered around the "Belt and Road" initiative, which aims to foster closer ties between China and participating countries. This initiative was introduced by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Mr. Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting the historical connections and robust economic relations shared by the two nations. He emphasized the importance of such reciprocal visits in deepening cooperation, particularly in economic and banking sectors.
