Government Reviews National Energy Projects and Investment Initiatives

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting of the Supreme Council of Energy on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to review national energy projects and efforts to attract investment in the sector.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by several key ministers, including those responsible for electricity, petroleum, industry, planning, environment, and finance, as well as the heads of the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Military Technical College. The council focused on ongoing efforts to ensure a stable energy supply for industrial, developmental, and consumer sectors, emphasizing the diversification of sources and sustainability.

The council discussed the progress of renewable energy projects and strategies to increase both local and foreign investment in the energy sector. Officials reiterated the state's commitment to involving the private sector as a crucial partner in Egypt's energy transition strategy.

Furthermore, the council evaluated proposals to offer new incentives for targeted industries, aligning with Egypt's broader strategy to localize production, enhance industrial growth, and support key sectors through improved energy infrastructure.
