G20 Official Meeting Commences in Cairo with Egyptian Participation

Cairo: The inaugural official meeting of the G20, held outside the member states, began in Cairo with the participation of Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and Ambassador Ragy El-Etreby, who serves as the Personal Representative of the President of the Republic to the G20 and Assistant Foreign Minister.According to State Information Service Egypt, this event signifies Egypt's participation as a guest country in the G20 meetings for the third consecutive year and the fifth time overall. It highlights Egypt's regional influence and its involvement in addressing significant international issues. Additionally, the event underscores Egypt's efforts to support multilateral negotiation tracks, considering the concerns and priorities of developing countries, especially African nations, and enhancing their representation in international and regional platforms.The meeting, scheduled to last three days, is coordinated with South Africa's presidency of the G20 this year. It aims to address the pressing issue of food security and its various aspects. The gathering sees attendance from numerous G20 member states, guest countries under the South African presidency, and multiple international organizations and financial institutions.
