Cairo: The French Embassy in Egypt has extended its congratulations to Khaled El-Enany on his election as the Director-General of UNESCO. In a message posted on its official X account, the embassy expressed its best wishes for Enany's success in his new role, emphasizing the importance of his mission to support culture, education, and science.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Enany was elected earlier in the day during the General Conference of UNESCO. He secured the position with an overwhelming majority, receiving 172 votes out of a total of 174 ballots cast.
