Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh emphasized the significance of the newly launched Foreign Trade Procedures Portal, describing it as a pivotal advancement in the evolution of the Egyptian trade system. The portal aims to streamline procedures and bolster transparency, thereby enhancing economic competitiveness and boosting exports.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister made these remarks during the launch event of the portal, which was organized in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and supported by the UK. The platform offers a consolidated digital interface for all import, export, and transit-related procedures and legislation.
Farid highlighted that this initiative aims to improve government efficiency and decrease business costs by providing accurate data. He reiterated Egypt's dedication to adhering to its 2019 Trade Facilitation Agreement commitments and the transparency regulations set by the World Trade Organization. The minister expressed appreciation for the technical partners involved in establishing this effective institutional system.
The Egyptian government remains focused on implementing legislative reforms to enhance trade and attract sustainable investments.
