Foreign Ministry Unveils E-Platform for Consular Services to Egyptians Abroad

Cairo:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates has announced the pilot operation of a new interactive electronic platform aimed at providing consular services to Egyptian citizens living abroad. This platform is accessible through smartphone applications available on the App Store and Google Play.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative aligns with presidential directives to enhance consular services for Egyptians overseas, as part of broader state efforts to advance digital transformation and modernize government operations.

The ministry reported that the pilot phase currently includes 17 Egyptian diplomatic missions and consulates across various global locations, such as Prague, Houston, Rabat, Hamburg, Manama, Berlin, Doha, Pretoria, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Rome, Abu Dhabi, Chicago, Marseille, Brussels, Sydney, and Melbourne. Plans are underway to extend the platform to additional consulates and missions in the future.

The platform facilitates the completion of consular transactions and allows users to track the processing stages until all procedures are completed. This development is expected to streamline processes, reduce time and effort, and improve service quality for Egyptian citizens.

The ministry emphasized that the platform's launch is part of a broader strategy to integrate with other government digital platforms, reflecting the state's dedication to protecting the interests of Egyptians abroad. The initiative aims to ease transaction processes, strengthen communication with expatriates, and enhance the consular service system through the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
