Cairo:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates has launched an awareness campaign titled "Waei - Your Guide to Understanding Data" to emphasize the importance of "international legitimacy resolutions."
According to State Information Service Egypt, the campaign, on its ninth day, outlined the role of international legitimacy resolutions as decisions made by the United Nations and its specialized bodies. These resolutions provide a framework for resolving disputes according to international law.
The campaign specifically focused on three significant resolutions related to the Palestinian cause. It highlighted UN General Assembly Resolution 194 of 1948, which supports the right of Palestinian refugees to return and seek compensation, and UN Security Council Resolution 242 of 1967, which emphasizes the inadmissibility of acquiring land through war and demands withdrawal from occupied territories. Additionally, UNSC Resolution 338 of 1973, which calls for a ceasefire, the implementation of Resolution 242, and the initiation of negotiations for a lasting peace, was also featured.
The "Waei" campaign, which commenced last week, aims to educate the public on diplomatic terms and concepts through a series of accessible posts. This initiative seeks to enhance public understanding of foreign affairs and clarify Egypt's positions.
