FM to Meet with UN Former Chief and Gambian Foreign Minister in Cairo

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty is set to meet with Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, on Saturday in Cairo. The meeting was announced in a statement issued by the Ministry on Friday, May 30, 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty will also participate in the Tripartite Meeting on Libya, involving Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria. This significant meeting aims to address ongoing issues and foster cooperation among the three nations.

Later, Abdelatty will engage with his Gambian counterpart, Mr. Mamadou Tangara. This meeting will include an expanded discussion session, culminating in a joint press conference to discuss bilateral relations and potential collaborations.

In the afternoon, Abdelatty is scheduled to meet with Senator Tim Sheehy, a member of the US Senate Armed Services Committee. This meeting is expected to cover topics related to defense and strategic interests between Egypt and the United States.
