FM: Supporting Egyptian Expats Top Priority for State

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said on Sunday August 3rd, 2025, that providing full support and care for Egyptians living abroad is a top priority for the state.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the foreign minister, in exclusive statements to Nile News Channel, said the sixth edition of Egyptians Abroad Conference is distinguished and different from previous editions, in light of the diversity and number of initiatives presented for Egyptian expatriate communities, covering health, education, industry, housing, and agriculture.

He added that these initiatives reflect the state's commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives not to limit engagement with expatriates to the collection of fees, but to shift toward launching initiatives that strengthen the sense of belonging to the homeland.

Abdelatty emphasized the importance of digital transformation, describing it as the 'new global language,' especially when it comes to speeding up processes and reducing paperwork. The Foreign Ministry has made considerable progress in shortening the time required for consular transactions and is currently working with the Ministry of Interior to establish an integrated center for consular services, Abdelatty stated.

He highlighted efforts to present investment initiatives introduced in various economic sectors to Egyptians abroad through Egypt's digital portal. During the conference, the foreign minister reiterated Egypt's unwavering support of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital.

Egypt has spared no effort in supporting the Palestinian people and their cause, Abdelatty said. He added that Egypt has delivered over 70 percent of the total aid entering Gaza and continues to send assistance by air and through land crossings.
