FM Stresses Utmost Priority of Ending War in Palestine

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt's top priority of bringing the war to an end, ensuring the Palestinian people remain on their land without displacement, rejecting any plans for annexation of Palestinian territories and preserving the territorial unity of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, while also initiating early recovery efforts and the reconstruction of Gaza.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this came during a phone call received by the Foreign Minister on Saturday 4/10/2025 from Deputy Palestinian President Hussein al Sheikh to discuss the latest developments related to the ongoing efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tamim Khallaf stated that the Palestinian Deputy President conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, expressing deep appreciation for Egypt's efforts to end the war in Gaza and uphold Palestinian rights.

Sheikh also stressed the importance of capitalizing on the positive momentum generated by US President Donald Trump's proposal regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, as a means to end the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave, which has persisted for two consecutive years.

For his part, Abdelatty expressed hope that international efforts would lead to a complete cessation of hostilities, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and facilitating greater access of humanitarian aid to the region.
