FM Stresses Importance of Professionalism in Protecting Egypt’s Interests

New york: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized the pivotal role of the Foreign Ministry as the first line of defense for Egypt's national interests. His comments highlighted the necessity for professionalism, discipline, and readiness among its members.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty's remarks were made during a meeting with members of Egypt's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Consulate General in New York. This meeting was part of his ongoing commitment to maintaining direct and continuous communication with Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad.

During the meeting, Abdelatty outlined the key priorities of Egypt's foreign policy on both regional and international levels, in light of his participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He emphasized the need for continued coordination between the Ministry's various sectors and Egypt's overseas missions, given the rapidly changing global and regional landscapes.

Abdelatty reiterated that protecting the interests of Egyptian citizens abroad remains a top priority for diplomatic missions. He also highlighted the cultural dimension of diplomatic work, noting the importance of Egypt's soft power as a tool to promote the country's ancient civilization and modern achievements.

He concluded by praising the efforts of Egypt's Permanent Mission and Consulate General in New York for their role in serving the Egyptian community and advancing Egyptian interests on international and UN platforms.
