Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions. He emphasized the importance of a Sudanese-owned political process without external interference to help end the crisis and restore security and stability in the country.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty's remarks were made during a phone call with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem. The communication aimed to follow up on developments in bilateral relations across various fields, as well as on-the-ground developments in Sudan.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the situation in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea security. They highlighted the importance of enhancing coordination among littoral states and emphasized the need to maintain the security and safety of maritime navigation.

Additionally, both ministers stressed the importance of supporting efforts to consolidate peace, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa. They aimed to ensure that these efforts protect the interests of the region's countries and peoples.
