Cairo: Foreign, Emigration, and Expatriates Affairs Minister Badr Abdelatty underlined the importance of sharing production and extraction experiences with energy-producing countries worldwide, focusing on optimizing modern technology to explore and exploit natural resources. Abdelatty said that Egypt has the potential to make significant progress in this vital sector during a meeting with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi on Saturday, 8 November 2025, as part of regular coordination between the two ministries.According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers affirmed their mutual keenness to maintain cooperation for attracting foreign investments and opening up new global competition opportunities for Egyptian companies, especially through the Egypt Exploration and Production Portal, also known as Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG), a one-stop shop aimed at digitally promoting Egypt's oil and gas opportunities through providing easy digital access to advanced data visualization a nd technology.Abdelatty underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation with other countries in the region, with a view to consolidating Egypt's position as a regional energy trading hub and leveraging the country's energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, Badawi briefed the top diplomat on the progress made in ongoing energy integration projects between Egypt and some countries in the region to connect gas fields to Egyptian facilities and promote energy security.He highlighted the success of natural gas regional partnership models, especially in light of Egypt's advanced infrastructure, which includes gas liquefaction plants and transportation networks, which help in supporting regional economic integration. Badawi also emphasized the importance of coordination for highlighting the efficiency and excellence of national petroleum companies and projects and their ability to undertake major projects overseas and to open new opportunities in regional and global markets, given the proven track record of the se companies across many markets.
