New york: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said on Sunday, September 20, 2026, that Egypt attaches great importance to resolving ongoing conflicts in the region through peaceful means and political channels, with the aim of promoting regional and international security and stability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with former Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Sigrid Kaag on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on regional developments in the Middle East, where Abdelatty briefed Kaag on the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue.

He highlighted the importance of implementing all phases of US President Donald Trump's plan, ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and advancing early recovery and reconstruction efforts. Abdelatty emphasized that the situation in Gaza cannot be separated from developments in the West Bank, underlining the necessity of preserving the territorial unity of the Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, Abdelatty reiterated the need to work toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
