Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty underlined Egypt's commitment to strengthening relations with the US in a way that aligns with regional and international developments and serves the common interests of both countries. He highlighted the economic and investment cooperation between the two sides, praising the momentum provided by the Egypt-US Economic Forum held in Cairo in May 2025, which saw broad participation from the business communities of both countries.According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum offered an opportunity for dialogue on investment and trade prospects as well as means of enhancing partnerships between the public and private sectors. The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Egyptian and US youths taking part in the "Shafik Gabr" Fellowship program. The minister welcomed the participants, lauding the program as an important platform for promoting dialogue, communication, and building bridges of understanding and cooperation between the peoples of Egypt and the US.He also commended the strategic relations between Egypt and the US, which are based on long-standing partnership and close cooperation across political, economic, security, and cultural fields. During the meeting, Abdelatty reviewed the priorities of Egypt's foreign policy, clarifying Egypt's stance on key regional and international issues, notably the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the Sudanese crisis, the situation in Libya, and water security issues.He also discussed Egypt's efforts to promote international peace and security and support development in Africa, affirming the Egyptian policy's commitment to international law and multilateral cooperation. The meeting concluded with an interactive dialogue between the minister and the participants, during which he listened to their opinions and questions, emphasizing the added value of such programs in enhancing cultural and intellectual exchange and supporting Egypt-US relations.
