Amman: Egypt is exerting intensive efforts in coordination with its partners in Qatar and the United States to immediately halt the daily systematic killings in the Gaza Strip. Addressing a press conference jointly held by the delegation of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza in the Jordanian capital, Amman, Abdelatty said that the committee is pursuing multiple tracks concerning the Palestinian issue, which is going through its most critical phase.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty condemned Israel’s refusal to allow a delegation of the committee to enter Palestinian Authority territories and Ramallah to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He asserted that such a refusal demonstrates “arrogance and complete rejection of all peace efforts.”

The top Egyptian diplomat raised the alarm over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, describing it as “catastrophic.” For 80 days, no trucks carrying humanitarian or medical aid have entered the strip, Abdelatty said, condemning the action as a “flagrant violation” of the basic principles of international law and international humanitarian law.
