FM, Indian State Minister Highlight Progress in Egypt-India Bilateral Relations

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized the notable progress in the bilateral relations between Egypt and India.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussion unfolded during the foreign minister's reception of the Indian official on Thursday, 15/1/2026. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

The ministers reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts to strengthen collaboration across various sectors. This commitment reflects the strategic relations between Egypt and India, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment domains, aiming to meet the aspirations of both peoples given their historical ties and shared interests.

Additionally, the ministers expressed their eagerness to convene the 14th round of political consultations between the two countries in Cairo next February at the level of assistant foreign ministers. They also plan to hold the 8th session of the Joint Committee, co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both nations, in Cairo in June 2026.

The importance of establishing a bilateral business council and forming an Egyptian-Indian Chamber of Commerce was also underscored during the meeting.
